Looking for a new adventure? You’ve come to the right place. We're an Amsterdam-based team of 90+ (and counting) with 25+ nationalities amongst us! A varied bunch of Citizens of The World with a wide range of skills and hundreds of thousands of kilometers under our travel belts. And we have something important in common (other than our very well-worn passports): we want to change the way people travel.
And that's exactly what we're doing, with the travel app to plan, track, and relive trips in a smart and beautiful way. Polarsteps has over 20 million users already, but, for us, this is just the beginning. We have big plans for the future, and so we need even more talented and enthusiastic people to help us on our journey.
We’re looking for students or graduates who wants to join us for a minimal of 24 hours each week. This is a chance to see close-up what life in a startup/scaleup is like, and to join a team building one of world’s most ambitious consumer brands. This will provide valuable experience and insight for anyone who wants to go into tech/startup life. In 10 years, we think you’ll be proud to say you worked at Polarsteps back when it was just taking off and was under 100 people.
Your expedition at Polarsteps - Creative & Performance Marketing
Over the past 10 years, Polarsteps has grown massively through word-of-mouth, thanks to our product and tech department building a top-quality user experience for all our travelers. The last 2 years, we also started with building a paid layer on top of that already really strong word-of-mouth flywheel to accelerate our growth internationally.
As our creative - performance marketing, you will be working closely with our Marketing Lead, User Acquisition Specialist and Creator Marketer. You’ll main responsibility is creating compelling visual content that helps drive performance marketing campaigns across our core paid media channels.
Your itinerary
What your journey at Polarsteps will look like day-to-day.
Video editing content creation - filming and editing videos to produce full funnel, thumb-stopping performance marketing assets.
UGC collaboration - Editing our ambassadors or other UGC’s content to create next level assets that can be used across our performance marketing.
Photography - shooting and editing to build up our library of great content for use in ads and Polarsteps communications.
Graphic design - designing graphics for our performance marketing campaigns whether that’s Instagram ads, Tiktok ads, Google ads or a new channel completely.
Campaign ideation - helping to come up with ideas and performance marketing campaigns across the year.
Supporting the user acquisition specialist in reviewing creative assets , ensuring that every piece of content proudly represents the Polarsteps brand and that consistent branding is maintained across all creative outputs.
Please note: this role does not include the management or production of content for organic social media channels.

What we’re hoping you’ll bring with you.
Ability to work minimal of 24 hours per week alongside your studies or summer break.
Fluency in English or native fluency in French and/or German
Bringing visual ideas to life: You have a passion for creating stunning visuals, whether through photography, graphic design, or video.
Designing for Impact: You understand the power of design in driving performance. You’re skilled at creating graphics for social media and ad campaigns that not only look great but also convert. You can design with different platforms in mind, ensuring your work is optimized for Instagram, TikTok, Google ads, and beyond.
You know how to capture the essence of a brand in every piece of content you create, and you thrive on producing eye-catching visuals that resonate with audiences.
Collaborating with creators and ambassadors: You love working with brand ambassadors and influencers to gather user-generated content (UGC) that feels authentic. You know how to guide them to create content that aligns with the brand while still maintaining their personal voice.
Working in a Fast-Paced Environment: You thrive in a startup environment, where speed and adaptability are key. You’re comfortable juggling multiple projects, executing with precision, and delivering high-quality work on tight timelines.
Contributing to a mission-driven brand: You’re eager to contribute to a brand that want to change how people travel, and you understand how to craft content that inspires and engages a travel-focused audience.
What your journey will look like
In your first month, you’ll be joining in-person onboarding sessions at our Amsterdam office, this is the best way to get to know the team and how everything works!
After you’ve completed your onboarding and training, we’d like to see you in the office twice a week on our team days (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday). The rest of your shifts will be flexible and can even be evenings/weekends if you prefer (once you are comfortable working independently).
You will be working closely with our Growth & Marketing team-members and your work will really contribute to the overall growth of Polarsteps.

16 euro's gross an hour + 8% holiday pay + 4% pension contribution
